3. Embodiment Design

Embodiment Design: Starting from the concept, the designer determines the layout and forms and develops a technical product or system in accordance with technical and economic considerations.

This is probably the largest section of the entire design process.  Here you’re trying to define a final layout and clarify a design that is 90% complete.  The loop represented in this part of the model suggests that that section is non-linear.  You Structural Distillation and FEA results might mean that you need to update the current design, perhaps change the configuration and materials.  Do not be upset if this is the case, this happen in the ‘real-world’ too.  Many Final Concepts, go through a number of iterations themselves before they are finally bought to market.  Give yourself time to develop the design, the finer detail comes in the next section.
